Body Composition Analysis
BCA (Body Composition Analysis) – Body composition is, in simple words, what the body is made of – fat, protein, minerals and body water. In essence, it describes weight more accurately than BMI. Body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentage.
Why is body composition important to measure?
Most diet and fitness goals focus on weight loss or gain, overlooking that two people of the same sex and body weight may look completely different from each other because they have a different body composition. Body composition describes the amount of fat, bone, water, and muscle in the body. Measuring your body composition will tell you your own body’s unique makeup and help you identify areas to work on to improve your overall health and wellness.
Body composition analysis is a method of describing what the body is made of, differentiating between fat, protein, minerals, and body water to give you a snapshot of your health. InBody is in the business of body composition analysis, and we’re here to help you reach your health goals from the inside out.
This can help validate the effects of an entire range of Physical Training, Patient Care, and Wellness.

Bio-Well
Bio-Well has been developed by the team of Dr. Konstantin Korotkov and brings the powerful technology known as Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technique to market in a more accessible way than ever before and developed together with US partners. The product consists of a desktop camera and accompanying software, which allows a user to quickly and easily conduct human energy scans. When a scan is conducted, a weak electrical current is applied to the fingertips for less than a millisecond. The object’s response to this stimulus is the formation of a variation of an “electron cloud” composed of light energy photons. The electronic “glow” of this discharge, which is invisible to the human eye, is captured by the camera system and then translated and transmitted back in graphical representations to show energy, stress and vitality evaluations. Each scan returns a wealth of meaningful information to provide you with a truly holistic view of the state of your wellbeing.
The image, which we create in Bio-Well instrument, is based on ideas of Traditional Chinese Medicine and verified by 20 years of clinical experience by hundreds of medical doctors with many thousands of patients. The scanning process is quick, easy and non-intrusive. Get real time feedback on what factors – positive and negative – affect your energy state. View each scan in a variety of interesting ways with up to 7 result display options. With the BioWell Sputnik and Water Electrode, measure environment, human emotions and water energies!
Bio-Well presents analysis of the Energy Field and allows to see its day-to-day transformation and the influence of different treatments, situations and stimulus to the Energy Field and hence, to the condition of a person. Friendly software makes data processing simple and convenient for non-experienced users. With Bio-Well you do not need to be a scientist to make full-scale scientific research! Bio-Well is being used by thousands of doctors, practitioners and researchers worldwide. Bio-Well does not measure the anatomical structure of the body, but records functional condition of organs and systems at the moment of
measurement.
Bio-Well analysis has the following outcomes:
Allows to define organs and systems of the body which need attention.
Follow up response of the body to different influences (treatments, emotions, mobile phone, etc).
Provides information on psycho-emotional state and level of stress (anxiety).
Allows easily measure response of the body to different medications, supplements and food.
Thyroflex
Years before thyroid blood tests became the standard to test thyroid function a healthcare practitioner would test an individual’s muscle reflexes.
It’s long been known that muscles are a major target of the thyroid hormones. According to research, thyroid hormone signaling is required for skeletal muscle development, contractile function and muscle regeneration.
For this reason, a delayed, or hyper-responsive reflex indicates a possible thyroid problem.
The Thyroflex Test Explained
Nowadays there’s a specialised diagnostic tool that takes the guess work out of testing an individual’s reflex reactions. Known as the Thyroflex test, this is a non-invasive thyroid test that is offered by Naturopaths, and other thyroid health specialists.
Thyroflex testing uses a spring-loaded reflex hammer connected to a computer to assess thyroid function.
How Is The Thyroflex Test Performed?
The Thyroflex test measures the reaction time, or reflex of the brachioradialis muscle of the forearm. This muscle is used for testing as the person being tested simple sits with their arm resting on the healthcare practitioner’s desk.
During the test a small reflex hammer strikes the sensitive area of the brachioradialis muscle. Then using a specially developed software program the Thyroflex measures the response of the muscle within milliseconds.
A low reflex score indicates low thyroid hormone activity due to reduced metabolic activity. In contrast, a higher than normal reflex can indicate over activity of the thyroid hormones.
The Benefits of Thyroflex Thyroid Testing
- Helps identify a thyroid health problem.
Effective tool for measuring current thyroid hormone activity. - Non-invasive as no blood draw is required
- Useful when used alongside conventional thyroid tests.
- Provides immediate results as the test take around five minutes
Oligoscan
Spectrophotometry / Oligoscan is the quantitative measurement of the reflection or transmission properties of a material as a function of wavelength. A spectrophotometer is able to determine, depending on the control or calibration, what substances are present in a target and exactly how much through calculations of observed wavelengths. This works because the amount of light absorbed or reflected at a given wavelength is different for different substances.
The method used by the OligoScan to obtain results on the amount of trace elements in tissues is optical. It is a quantitative analytical method, which consists in measuring the absorbance or the optical density of a chemical substance. The basic principle is that every chemical compound absorbs, emits or reflects light (electromagnetic radiation) over a certain range of wavelength. The more the sample is concentrated, the more it absorbs the light within the limits of proportionality expressed in the law Beer-Lambert.
How does it work
OligoScan measure the composition of the epithelial cells according to a physical phenomenon: the absorption of a substance containing minerals and metals varies depending on their concentration, and the wavelength changes with respect to the emission and reception. This rate of absorption provides information about the concentration of the analyzed substances in the palmar tissues. This allows determining the tissue bioavailability of minerals and trace elements, but also the presence of heavy metals in the body.
